Strong Winds Fuel Multiple SoCal Wildfires
Our current policies at the federal and state level are being focused on appropriating billions of dollars of taxpayer money to manage vegetation and remove vegetation in remote wildlands – mostly on public lands – with the thinking that somehow is going to stop a fire from reaching a town miles and miles away. The problem is, that approach hasn’t worked — it’s been a failure. These fires are spreading rapidly through these areas, and then burning down towns. What we know now is we have to just focus on the communities and shift away from these 20th century policies that aren’t working.
